Today, Jonathan had a car accident. It was NOT his fault, thank goodness. He had to be at work at 11 a.m. and by 11:30 he was already out on sales. I received a phone call from him right after he left the office and he had just been rear ended and was in a really bad accident. There was one other guy in the car with him from work. Jonathan was taken out of the car and straight onto a stretcher and they were both taken to the hospital by ambulance. They ended up escaping any major injuries, but Jonathan is banged up pretty good. Both airbags went off, which broke the windshield and they had broken glass on their clothes. Grandpa S., Lindsey, and I got to the hospital a little after 12 p.m. and they took him to x-ray shortly thereafter. The car is definitely totalled. Jonathan was at a complete stop, due to the traffic in front of him turning left into a business and the car behind him must have hardly hit their brakes because she hit him so hard that it pushed him into the two cars in front of him. Jonathan had no broken bones, etc. but he does have an abrasion on his shin and elbow and bruising from the airbag and very, very sore from top to bottom. He already has some back problems and this just doesn't help the situation.
So, another car bites the dust. It is definitely totalled, which makes it the 4th car that we have owned since we have been married that has been totalled. I totalled the 1997 Camaro in January of 2003. Jonathan totalled the 1999 Dodge Dakota in October of 2005. Jonathan totalled the 1999 Cadillac Catera in June of 2006. Now the 1999 Monte Carlo in April 2007. Thankfully this time was not our fault.
After the accident and the trip to the emergency room, we went to the towing company where the car was taken to get our stuff out. I also was able to get some good pictures of what the car looks like.

Wow! That's a bummer!! God definitly has a lot of angels around you all! We are glad Jonathan is okay though! You need to get a hummer next. It'd be like driving a tank! You could put a bumper sticker that says "come get me". (he, he!)
Wow Leanna! I don't know who has the worst luck - you guys or Brian and Janella. Glad Jonathon is ok. Good luck in finding another vehicle.

Wow! That's sad, Leanna. But, I'm glad that it sounds like he's going to be ok! I cannot believe that y'all have had 4 cars totalled..I'm glad that y'all are STILL ALIVE! =)

Oh my!! I hope he doesn't have long term issues from this accident. You need Brian to get back in town and help find you an awsome van since they are so good at it. Let us know what you end up getting.

Goodness girl! Maybe you should take up bicycling. =) Glad Jonathan is okay.
That is just terrible and I can't believe how huge that impact must have been to damage the car that badly. Glad Jonathan is ok.
