!! BIG GIRL !!

"Wow, what a Big Girl you are!", I told Lindsey as I clapped, jumped up and down and commended her greatly on her accomplishment!

Lindsey went potty in her potty chair for the very first time today.

I don't know if I will ever be able to conquer the whole potty training thing quite as early as my own Mother did, but at least at 18 months, Lindsey has a verrry good idea of the whole picture. She knows all about opening and shutting the lid, tp, and flushing it. Now - - - to just get her to do this all the time, but at least it is a step in the right direction.

I couldn't resist posting this great news that happened today!

I'll also gladly take any suggestions regarding this subject that any of you experienced mothers would like to offer.

Congratulations. It's wonderful when they are out of diapers

That's awesome - way to go, Lindsey!
Don't have any experience potty training girls, but with my boys the key was to go for it when they showed interest and not to force it when they didn't. They all finally got it and though I thought at the time those days would never end, they did!

Miss you!

I totally agree with Melody!! We tried with Parker for over a year and one day he finally came out with a pair of underwear and said, "I want to wear these!" He was trained within two days! Now... if anyone has any suggestions about training twins, one boy and one girl, feel free to let me know!!!!! I simply dread it...

Kent is 2 and I was really hopeful, but his interest is mainly in flushing, so we're going to be buying diapers for a little while longer, I think. (sigh...)

Leanna, with Madelyn I just put panties on her and she was potty trained within two days. She did not like the feel and peeing and pooping in her panties. The first day we went through about 6 panties and 6 outfits. No pull-ups or diapers. We stayed home for that whole week because it wasn't fair to her and it was very frustrating to be out and trying to potty train at the same time. We went to the bathroom every 1/2 hour for the first 2 or 3 days. And I rewarded her with her favorite candy. One piece for peeing and two for pooping. And she got to the place where she didn't want to sit on the toilet seat so I rewarded her with a piece of candy also for just sitting on the toilet. Just telling you what I did with Madelyn. It worked.

Constance, that is what I have been told by others as well. I would be curious to know how old your little girl was when you did this. I'm definitely looking at my options because I know she could do it if she wanted to. Thanks for your input. Leanna
