A Visit from G & G Pitcher, Lizzi & Noah

Saturday, Jonathan's parents came for a visit and surprised us by bringing along our niece and nephew, Lizzi and Noah. Ralph and Belinda, their parents, couldn't come because they had to go to a birthday celebration, but we were able to enjoy the kids company and they all had a great time with Lindsey and she loved having them here. Lindsey is really learning how to play with other kids and she just absolutely loved it. Lizzi's affections for Lindsey are just the same so it was a lot of fun for her as well. We hadn't seen Jonathan's parents since March 18th, so it was a really nice of them to come over and see us. We went out to eat to Margarita's mexican restaurant at Cincinnati Mills Mall in Fairfield, OH. With being that close to Bass Pro Shops we made a trip into there as well. Then we took them to Jungle Jim's. I know it's just a grocery store, but it can be quite interesting for someone that has never been there. Anyways, we were there for about an hour or so and then they had to go home, sniff sniff. Thank you for coming, Mom and Dad Pitcher, we love you all bunches! Thank you Belinda for allowing your kids to come even though you weren't able too, I know that was a real sacrifice :).

I tried to take a lot of pictures for Belinda's sake, so enjoy.

Pictures of Brian & Janella's trip to Salamanca, MX

My brother, Brian and his family went to Salamanca, Mexico to visit the Marc Sankey family who are missionaries down there. They had a lot of fun and took lots of pictures. I am posting the pictures on my blog since they don't have a blog and there are people that would like to see them. They got home around 5:30 a.m. Friday morning. They came to see us Friday evening and showed us the pictures and gave us all the details. Hope you enjoy.

Update......

It has now been 3 days since Jonathan's accident. He could be worse and he could be better. I think he is improving, but he's still has plenty of aches and pains. The ONLY good thing that is coming out of the accident is that we will no longer have just a 2 door car. We are hoping to get a mini van, but no purchase has been made yet.

On the bad side, guess what? Lindsey is sick again. She took the last of her antibiotic on Sunday and I just quit giving her cold and cough medicine for the last time on Tuesday. Two healthy days go by, Wednesday and Thursday, and she's sick again. Late Thursday night after midnight I thought Lindsey felt warm, so I took her temperature. Under arm temp was 101.9 and you add a degree when it's taken that way so basically it was a tenth away from being 103. I promptly gave her a pain and fever reducer medicine and I'm sure we'll be off to the doctor Friday morning. I have a hunch that the ear infection never was truly gone. She has only had one other ear infection and that was when she was 5 months and she had to have a double dose of antibiotics that time as well. I'll keep you posted.

The good news. Lizzi, my niece who is Jonathan's sisters daughter, is better. She went to the doctor on Wednesday and they reported clear lungs. She finished her last iv through the pick line at home on Thursday afternoon and the nurse comes Friday morning to remove the pick line.

Noah, who is Lizzi's brother, is walking everywhere now. I can't wait to see all of them again. He just turned 11 months this past Sunday. We are planning to go over to Indiana in about 4 weeks for his 1st Birthday Party, but right now that seems a long time away. We haven't seen them in what seems a long time.

Reporting in: The Brian Snelling Family has landed on home soil. They flew to Mexico last Friday to visit the Marc Sankey Family, who are missionaries in Salamanca, Mexico.

Brian is my brother, for any of you who might not have known. Anyways, they had a great time. Thursday morning started early for them and they left the Sankeys home in Salamanca at 9:30 a.m. After a fog delay in Chicago they landed in Cleveland Ohio a little before 1 a.m. on Friday morning. They then decided to head on for home instead of staying at a motel because their own beds sounded much better. I just spoke with Brian a few minutes ago around 4 a.m. and they were approximately 80 miles from home. Thank God for a safe trip. We're glad you're home :)

Sorry to disappoint you, but no pictures this posting. Have a great weekend.

Jonathan's Car Accident

Today, Jonathan had a car accident. It was NOT his fault, thank goodness. He had to be at work at 11 a.m. and by 11:30 he was already out on sales. I received a phone call from him right after he left the office and he had just been rear ended and was in a really bad accident. There was one other guy in the car with him from work. Jonathan was taken out of the car and straight onto a stretcher and they were both taken to the hospital by ambulance. They ended up escaping any major injuries, but Jonathan is banged up pretty good. Both airbags went off, which broke the windshield and they had broken glass on their clothes. Grandpa S., Lindsey, and I got to the hospital a little after 12 p.m. and they took him to x-ray shortly thereafter. The car is definitely totalled. Jonathan was at a complete stop, due to the traffic in front of him turning left into a business and the car behind him must have hardly hit their brakes because she hit him so hard that it pushed him into the two cars in front of him. Jonathan had no broken bones, etc. but he does have an abrasion on his shin and elbow and bruising from the airbag and very, very sore from top to bottom. He already has some back problems and this just doesn't help the situation.

So, another car bites the dust. It is definitely totalled, which makes it the 4th car that we have owned since we have been married that has been totalled. I totalled the 1997 Camaro in January of 2003. Jonathan totalled the 1999 Dodge Dakota in October of 2005. Jonathan totalled the 1999 Cadillac Catera in June of 2006. Now the 1999 Monte Carlo in April 2007. Thankfully this time was not our fault.

After the accident and the trip to the emergency room, we went to the towing company where the car was taken to get our stuff out. I also was able to get some good pictures of what the car looks like.

Mondays Musings

Well, I don't have much to say, but thought I would go ahead and make a post anyway.

Sunday evening we went to Burlington Bible Methodist Church in Kentucky to hear my cousins, Curtis and Jennifer Going, do their deputation service. They are starting a new Bible Methodist expansion church in Columbus, GA. There used to be a church there about 20 years ago, but has been boarded up. They will be starting from scratch. It was a really good service and they did a great presentation. I wish them the best.

Today was a catch up on sleep day from the busy past week we have had and also a cleaning day. I have done about 4 loads of laundry, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, etc. My Dad helped as well ,and now the house is back in livable condition :) This was to Mom's much happiness. She did not have to stress over a messy house when she got home from her long day at work and therapy session on her shoulder.

We went to supper at Subway, because who wants to cook after getting everything cleaned, right :) Now we are home and I am blogging and Lindsey is sleeping.

I have gone back down memory's lane from last April and have posted some pictures for you to enjoy. I have posted pictures of the following: from IHC 2006, a year ago - in the motel on Thursday night of IHC last year of Lizzi and Lindsey - Lindsey's 3 month portrait studio pictures - my, how time flys and how much she has grown in one short year - Lindsey and my trip to Grandma and Grandpa Pitchers, in Indiana, while Jonathan was gone for two weeks to Minnesota on a business trip last April - Lizzi and Noah's room decorations that I think are just absolutely adorable - Lindsey taking her first steps, initiated on her own at just 3 months - Jonathan, in MN, doing some hilly, rock climbing and an area view of the Winona, MN area - some pictures at home in the beginning of May 2006.

Weekend Events

~ Friday Fun ~
Mom was off today. (Because who likes to go back to work on Friday after already having been off work for 2 days for IHC.) Mom, Lindsey and I went to the mall for several hours and strolled around. We had some exchanges to make and a shower gift and birthday gift to shop for. Then we came home and then later we went back to the mall with Daddy and Grandpa in tow and ate at Ruby Tuesdays. Then I came home and cleaned for several hours. (Now that part wasn't fun :)

~ Gretchen Stroup's Bridal Shower ~
~ Baby Heintzelman's Debut ~
This morning, Mom, Lindsey and I went to Gretchen Stroup's church bridal shower. She is getting married in June to Aaron Wetherald. Katie Heintzelman had her baby last Sunday and was at the shower today with him. Welcome Baby - Wesley Duane Heintzelman! He is so cute. We had a great time and I took some pictures to share as well.

~ Katrin Eckerts 1st Birthday Party ~
After the shower we came home and picked up my Dad and went to Katrin's Birthday Party. Jonathan was working as he does every Saturday. They live in Kentucky, so that's where the party was. Their neighbor/friends who live across the street from them let them use their detached kitchen facilities and large deck. It has been such a beautiful day and a great place to have a party -outside! We had great grilled food and all the amenities and delicacies that go with it. After the fun party we went to see their new house that they just purchased this month. So... they will no longer be Kentucky residents, but Ohio residents. They are doing a lot of work to the house and it is going to be very nice. I am very happy for them!

~~ IHC 2007 ~~

Time Flys! We wait a whole year and look forward to it and then it's done and over with before it seems like it starts. I love going to IHC - Inter Holiness Convention. I have never missed a year in my life and I hope to keep the tradition up with my daughter. People ask if it's hectic taking a baby, but that's all I ever wanted. When I thought we would never have children it was very hard to go to IHC and see all the strollers lined up and none of them were ours. Now I get to take my baby, my stroller and I enjoy IHC just the same. Yes, it's different, but I still love it. Lindsey and I went with my parents Tuesday evening. Jonathan took off and we were all together at IHC on Wednesday and Thursday. Some year I would like to stay at Crown Plaza and enjoy the convenience, but until then, we travelled back and forth, which is about 45 min to an hour.

We had a great time and enjoyed being able to spend time with what family was there. Jonathan's parents and sister and her family were not able to come due to our niece Lizzi being sick. Lizzi has CF - cystic fibrosis - and hasn't had to be admitted into the hospital in over two years, but her antibiotics were not working so they had to admit her for two iv antibiotics and one oral antibiotic. She was admitted last Thursday I believe and came home this past Monday. She has a pick line in and has to remain on the antibiotics until next Wednesday. She is doing good, but they still weren't able to come. We missed you!

Another year of IHC come and gone! Now we have another year to look forward to!

Enjoy the pics!

Sick Ward - & Other News

Well, where do I begin. Sick, sick, or sick? Lindsey got sick almost two weeks ago on Tuesday night 12 days ago. She isn't better yet. It's almost like it's been three different sicknesses and yet all in one. It started out with the whole fever thing and that was my main concern, but it seemed to just be the virus thing with no ear infection etc. and that started to get better on Thursday. Then on Friday night she started getting sick again and by Saturday afternoon it was full force and was improving by this past Tuesday. Then on Wednesday evening she turned for the worse again with a horrible runny nose and very gunky, runny eyes. I thought it was pink eye and I knew I couldn't avoid the doctor any longer so on Thursday I took her to the doctor. They said she didn't have pink eye, and that the eye problem was just a back up of drainage and was the same thing as her nose problem. She did have a slight ear infection though, that they said was less than 24 hours old. That made me feel better since up until that point she probably did only have the old sick virus stuff, but now we needed the doctors help. We got her an antibiotic, which she will now be on for 10 days. It is now late Sunday night and she is improving, but not completely better. Her eyes aren't quite as bad, but were still a little gunky when she got up this morning and she has a pretty congested sounding cough, but I think it's just the whole congestion thing trying to break loose. We didn't go to church this morning, but we did tonight. We had the Pennview Choir tonight at church and they were really good. Now I just hope she keeps improving and that we are able to have an enjoyable week at IHC.

Now onto more interesting things. Thursday evening, my brother, Brian came down and brought all three of the kids. Janella was at work and Matthew was to be going home Friday evening to Michigan, so we were able to enjoy some more time with him before he left. We had a great time and a lot of fun as you will be able to see in the pictures I have posted below. We were acting quite goofy and trying to see who could pick up who. Have fun laughing at us in the pictures :)

EASTER SUNDAY PICTURES

HAPPY EASTER! I know it is after midnight and it says Monday, but I haven't gone to bed yet. Today has been a very different Easter Sunday. Lindsey has still been sick so we were not able to go to church this morning. Tonight we went, but we're still not doing the greatest. Lindsey was acting more like herself, but I don't think she's completely out of the woods. I just couldn't resist going to church at least once on Easter Sunday if there was any way possible that I could go. We went in our Easter outfits and braved it - sick and all.

Jenn, Paul, & Katrin Eckert went to our church both services and ate Sunday dinner and Sunday night snack with us. It was a very enjoyable day.

I have attached some pictures from our Easter Sunday. It was too cold so we did not have an Easter egg hunt since Lindsey wasn't aware of what wasn't happening anyways. And with me being sick I didn't feel like coloring the eggs and trying to keep Lindsey from making a horrible mess.

Congrats to the Newlyweds~Deanna & Mark Mander

Today we went to Deanna (Wolf) and Mark Mander's wedding. It was beautiful and I am so happy for both of them.

I was able to get a few pics from the wedding. Nothing great - just some candids, but I thought I would share them with you.

Deanna & Mark Mander's Wedding April 7, 2007

On the bad side of it, my daughter got very sick right when we got to the reception. She (puked) all over her dress and I had to put her in jammies. Obviously we didn't stay much longer. That was just the beginning of it. I feel so sorry for her. I thought she was better. She hadn't done that earlier in the week when she was sick and hadn't had a fever since Thursday afternoon. After we left the wedding she went to sleep and is still sleeping right now and that was about 3 hours ago. I think her fever is back, but I still think it is just a virus. I am feeling much better, but still have a little bit of a sore throat.

HAVE A GREAT EASTER SUNDAY TOMORROW!
(i just hope i get to go to church-and that Lindsey is feeling much better)

I have my camera back :)

This has been a very bad week. Monday was ok and most of Tuesday, but Tuesday evening Lindsey started getting sick. It was around 11 p.m. and we noticed Lindsey had a fever. It was almost at the exact same time that I started getting a really sore throat. Thus, this started our very sick week. Lindsey on Wednesday morning had a 102.8 temp. I also had a temp, but mine was at its worst Wednesday evening at 101.6. We were miserable. Lindsey still had a fever part of Thursday, but then started improving in the evening. I was miserable with a swollen throat, but was improving on Thursday as well. Now it's Friday and we aren't out of the woods, but are much better. Thank goodness. It is not fun for mommy and baby to be sick at the same time. In fact, it is quite miserable. I got my camera back at the beginning of the week, but I don't think you would want to see pictures of the way we have looked this week. I am posting a few pictures that I took at the end of March. A couple of Sundays ago my cousins and their 3 kids came over and also stayed for Sunday night snack and I took a picture of the great chicken pasta dish that my sister-in-law, Lisa, fixed and the nicely set table.

Excuses Excuses.......(we all make them)

Well well, what do I say. Have I lost all my loyal readers, since I have not been loyally posting? I apologize. I left my camera at my brothers house last Sunday night and I still do not have it back. I am a picture blogger with a few details here and there. That's my excuse.

It's been another really nice spring week. Bye bye winter clothes and hello spring clothes :) Lindsey along with Mommy and Grandpa S. made her first trip of the season to the park and she loved the swing and the slides. We didn't stay long, but she enjoyed it. She also has been hesitant about the whole grass thing, but Daddy helped her with that today and let her go outside and walk in it barefooted and now she's feeling much braver :) She loves other kids and went right out and joined all of them playing in the side yard of grass at church this evening.

I have been shopping, and shopping, and shopping for some good spring/summer outfits with no luck, but with my mother in attendance I had much better luck when we went shopping yesterday. So now I am feeling much better about the whole Easter outfit ordeal. Lindsey was easy to buy for, in fact too easy, but me, it was another story.

Friday evening we went down to Craig Brown's pizza restaurant, Germantown Pizza, in Covington, KY and had a great time with some great pizza.

Jonathan has been working on our house a lot and is hoping to repaint the whole house this week except for the bedrooms and bathroom. He's already done the first grass mowing for the season and the yard looks really nice and green already :) Now I just need to get out there in a few weeks and do some flower planting - haha! I love to do it, but it's not easy now that I have a baby to run after - I'd be up chasing her more than down digging in the ground - so we'll see how that goes this year.

Well I have reported in and hopefully I will have some pictures to post again soon. Later!
